Join Our Board

Thank you for your interest in joining the team at Taff. This is an exciting time for us with the opportunity to be creative and bold in the way we shape the future of the organisation for our tenants, our colleagues and stakeholders. Taff is a community-based housing association with a strong reputation. We are proud of what we have achieved over the last 40 years and we are looking to the future with confidence.

Over 30% of our tenants and customers are from non-white backgrounds and we need to make sure our Board reflects the communities we serve. We are particularly interested in encouraging, supporting and recruiting people of colour. This isn’t about ‘tick box’ representation – it’s about bringing your skills to the Board along with your own unique perspective and lived experience.

We will support you and you will have the opportunity to develop as a Board member as this may be your first Board role. We value experience but we also value new thinking and fresh ideas. Our more experienced board members are ready to offer you mentoring and support, so you can settle into your new role with confidence. We are also working to develop external mentoring and support opportunities for you to access.

An organisation like ours requires the right skills around the Board table. Ideally you have skills in Supported Housing or Housing Development, or you might have worked in the housing sector in a different role . We’re also looking for people with skills in IT and Project Management. Your experience could come from public, private or not-for-profit organisations . However, we recognise skills will only get us so far. We need people with vision who share our values and will challenge the organisation to think differently. You will need enthusiasm, ideas, and the determination to make a difference.

We know some people feel nervous about applying to become a Board Member, especially if this is the first time you have applied. Please rest assured we will support you through the application process and help you every step of the way. For an informal and confidential conversation about our Board Member vacancies, or to request an application pack, please call or email our Chief Executive Helen White:
